Customer deployment
Press Handling Line for Lawn-Mower Housing
Customer deployment covering press load/unload and process handling for lawn-mower housings.
Automated material-handling line for a lawn-mower housing press process.
Workpiece
Pressed lawn-mower housing.
Production Challenge
Manual loading, unloading, and transfer between press operations had to be automated while controlling supply-position variation, cosmetic damage, and the risk of passing defects downstream.
AGR Solution
AGR configured workpiece positioning at supply, robotic gripping, press loading/unloading, transfer between processes, inline inspection, safety, and electrical controls as one handling line.
System Configuration
5 handling robots; 5 end-of-arm tooling sets for gripping/suction; supply-side positioning using vacuum and telescopic suction/positioning; press loading and unloading; inline inspection; safety guarding and interlocks; and an electrical-control package including PLC and HMI. Modular tooling and positioning parameters support adaptation to other specifications subject to engineering review.
Implementation
Customer-facing material-handling and process-automation line.
Case Results
The line replaces manual transfer, stabilizes gripping, identifies abnormal parts before downstream processes, provides operating visibility, and includes safety guarding and the complete electrical-control package.
Application Conditions
Similar pressed-housing handling applications can be assessed. Final applicability requires workpiece-condition and engineering review.
Automation Flow
-
01
Workpiece supply and positioning
Vacuum/telescopic suction and positioning mechanisms orient the supplied workpiece to improve gripping reliability.
-
02
Robotic gripping
End-of-arm tooling grips the housing.
-
03
Press loading
A robot loads the workpiece into the press process.
-
04
Press unloading
After processing, the robot unloads the workpiece and transfers it onward.
-
05
Inline inspection
Abnormal parts are identified before the downstream process.
-
06
Downstream transfer
Inspected workpieces are handed to the next process.
